• Bachelor Nation alumni Rachael Kirkconnell and Matt James broke up in Jan. 2025 after four years together.
  • Rachael has since spoken out about their split on platforms like Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy and Nick Viall’s The Viall Files.
  • Now, Rachael has been spotted with The Bachelorette’s, Tyler Cameron…who happens to be Matt’s best friend.

It’s been a little more than a year since Bachelor Nation’s Rachael Kirkconnell and Matt James called it quits after falling for each other on season 25 of ABC’s The Bachelor. And, dear reader, there’s been a sort of…interesting development on this side of the internet.

ICYMI, Matt has been best friends with Tyler Cameron—who was the runner-up on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette—since they played basketball together in college. In other words, these two go way back. So, when Matt’s ex, Rachael, posted a series of TikToks with Tyler during a recent ski trip, it’s safe to say Bachelor Nation was a little shook.

“Send prayers y’all. Tyler is trying to kill me @Tyler Cameron,” Rachael captioned the post.

“Why do we always have to get involved? Can’t we just do normal stuff that normal people do? Like, go for brunch?” she lip-synced in the clip she posted on Thursday, January 22, using audio from the British TV show Misfits.

Tyler then delivered his lines on the opposite side of the camera, mouthing, “What the fuck is brunch?”

Naturally, this duo caused fans to raise some eyebrows in her comments section, as one person wrote, “You got Tyler in the divorce?” while another said, “We are all okay with this.”

As other fans playfully joked that they were going to “start a rumor,” it’s important to note that Tyler has been linked to Tate Madden since 2023. So no, Racheal and Tyler aren’t dating—they’re just friends.

Around this time last year, Matt announced his split with Rachael in an Instagram post shared on January 16, 2025.

Alongside a photo of the first time he and Rachael met on The Bachelor, he wrote, “Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts. Give us a peace about this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding. Shower our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our Joy comes from you, Lord.”

That same day, sources told The Sun, “Rachael is being pretty quiet right now but I know she was blindsided by Matt’s post. She didn’t know he was going to do that and definitely wouldn’t have approved of it if she did. And she thinks it’s just as weird as everyone else does, she’s humiliated that's how the news came out.”

They added that Rachael is “the one who pulled the plug, full stop,” while Matt “knows what he did.”
